Independence Day

Whenever 15th august comes all Indians become in a festive mood. As Indians, we have celebrated this historic day in our organization and commemorated the leadership of the greatest freedom strugglers who sacrificed their lives to achieve independence after about 200 years. On this day Teranga is hoisted by the founder on our organization’s premises. We stay busy organizing several numbers of cultural programs. Children take part in singing, dancing, recitation, etc. on this day people are made aware of their right to become in every aspect.

Republic Day

We observe Republic day on the 26th of January every year. It is the day when our constitution came into effect. We celebrate this day by spreading the message of unity and harmony, making people understand the usefulness and importance of the constitution of our country. We hoist flags on the premises of our trust and organize some cultural events for the children. Local and street children have been distributed chocolates, cakes biscuits. We feel happy to see people gather on our organization premises with great enthusiasm and make the program remarkable.

Tree Plantation Week

As we are concerned about conserving our environment and spreading more green all around Bhawanipore, Kolkata, and beyond, HANDS conducts a one-week tree plantation drive with the help of our members, volunteers, and interested local people. We have planted more than thousands of saplings and plants around our city and beyond.

Foundation Day

29th January is celebrated as the foundation day of our organization. We try to keep some purposeful activities on this day. This year we have arranged a drawing competition for the school students where more than 100 children have participated in this. We also distribute prizes among them and make them motivated to perform well in the upcoming days. Our main motive is to find their talent and inspire them to nourish their potential and possibilities for a better future.

Celebration with the street children

HANDS has taken a pledge to sympathize with the street children who remain far away from the littlest joy, happiness, or enjoyment in life. So, our volunteers try to share the happiest moments of their life with them and bring smiles to those little faces by celebrating their birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions. We feel so blessed to have them on our special days and become satisfied to see them making our days memorable with their smiles.
